160 foreign nationals COVID-19 infected admitted to Mazandaran hospitals

Sari, IRNA – The deputy head of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences said on Tuesday that 170 foreign nationals infected with coronavirus have been admitted to and treated by hospitals of Mazandaran Province since the beginning of the pandemic.

Touraj Asadi said to IRNA that since the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic outbreak, 155 Afghans, five Iraqis, two Pakistanis, and eight other nationals have been treated in hospitals of in Mazandaran hospitals.

He continued that since June 22, 50 Afghan nationals, two Iraqi nationals, one Pakistani national, and three other nationals came to Mazandaran hospitals to be tested for the virus.

He added that 43,117 people have referred to Mazandaran hospitals to be tested, from whom 349 were foreign nationals.

Asadi said that, according to statistics, less than one percent of patients to Mazandaran hospitals with COVID-19 were foreign nationals since June 22.

He also said that 104,019 people have referred to Mazandaran hospitals since the beginning of the epidemic, 1,492 of whom have been foreign nationals.
