2m tons of wheat offloaded in Iranian ports in last 6 months

Tehran, IRNA – A senior official in Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) said that nearly two million tons of wheat has been offloaded in Iranian ports in the last 6 months.

Farhad Montasar Kouhsari, Ports and Economic Deputy in PMO, said that 122 ships have offloaded 1,945,421 tons of wheat in the first six month of this Persian year (March 21, September 22) and 1.8 million tons is also expected to be offloaded during the rest of the Persian year.

He said that the PMO has equipped all ports in the country to offload imported wheat and transmit directly to consumption centers, without storing any cargo in ports.

The organization has also collaborated with Iran’s Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization and the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways to supply required trucks and train cars, the official added.
