635 Transport Violations Detected in July at Several Airports in the Kingdom

The Transport General Authority detected 635 violations of its regulations at several airports in the Kingdom in July, during intensive inspection campaigns carried out by the authority in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and other stakeholders.

The violations were basically transporting passengers without a license.

The authority noted that its inspection campaigns continue, and target all airports in the Kingdom in an effort to curb illegal practices, improve the quality of services provided to passengers, give passengers access to available transportation options at airports, and encourage the use of licensed carriers.

The authority stressed that transporting passengers without a license is a clear violation of its regulations.

People operating unlicensed carriers are fined SAR5,000, have their vehicles impounded and must pay the costs associated with the impounding procedures, according to the regulations governing taxi services, taxi intermediaries, and ride-hailing services.
