Abarkouh County’s Rich Historical Heritage Attracts Tourists


Abarkouh: Abarkouh, an ancient Iranian town situated approximately 140 kilometers west of Yazd and bordering the province of Fars, is home to a wealth of historical sites. The county boasts around 400 historical monuments, showcasing its rich cultural past.



According to Islamic Republic News Agency, out of these 400 monuments, 147 have been registered in Iran’s National Heritage List. Additionally, 129 of these are immovable cultural monuments recognized for their national significance. The county also preserves twelve intangible cultural heritage elements, adding to its appeal for tourists and historians alike.
