Al-Assad and Raisi agree: The unipolar system is on its way out

Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad discussed, with his Iranian counterpart, Ibrahim Raisi, bilateral relations between the two countries and developments in the region, especially in light of the prevailing positive political atmosphere.

The two Presidents affirmed, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA), that: “The stability of the region is based on sound relations among its countries through permanent dialogue, respect for sovereignty and promotion of common interests, and the two Presidents also stressed the continuation of coordination and consultation for the interest of the two countries and the region in general.”

The phone call between the two Presidents dealt with “the attacks of the Israeli occupation forces on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the worshipers in it, and they considered that these attacks reflect the aggressive policy of the Israeli entity and are inseparable from the attacks it is carrying out against Syria targeting civilians, and confirm its weakness and failure in front of the strength of resistance and the courage of the Palestinian people.”

The Iranian President stressed “the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, considering that the fight against terrorism stems from support for national sovereignty in Syria.”

The two Presidents considered that “the unipolar system is on its way to demise, thanks to the vigilance of the peoples and countries that cling to their sovereignty and dignity.”
