The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, called on the government to sponsor the Iraqi artist and provide him with all means of support.
During his meeting with a group of Iraqi artists, Al-Maliki expressed his appreciation for the role of the Iraqi artist and his purposeful message at the national, human and civilizational levels that elevate the human mind, thought and behavior to high levels of sophistication, indicating that the arts in all their colors embody the culture, values, civilization and history of peoples and build bridges of communication between them.
He stressed the importance of arts in all its forms and types in serving Iraqi society and defining its authentic values and culture, in addition to highlighting the civilized face of Iraq and its people and contributing to supporting national causes, calling on the government to sponsor the Iraqi artist and provide all means of support for him, explaining that artistic and dramatic works need plans and programs to be adopted by the government through the Artists Syndicate, the Ministry of Culture and the Iraqi Media Network.
For their part, the artists expressed their happiness at meeting the head of the State of Law Coalition, stressing that al-Maliki’s visions and support for artists constitute an important incentive to advance the artistic sector in the country and enrich the artistic and cultural arena.
