Al-Sudani: Ashura has become part of our concept of confronting truth with falsehood

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani stressed: “Ashura has become part of our concept of confronting truth with falsehood.”

Al-Sudani said in a speech on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his pure family: “Ashura has become a clear approach to fighting corruption and not accepting the corrupt and remaining silent about them.”

He added: “The legacy of this great struggle represents today a clear path in our lives and in our monitoring of ourselves and in the intentions we carry or the service we provide to people.”

The Prime Minister continued: “Hussein rose up with his word and revolution when injustice and corruption worsened and the legacy of his grandfather, the Chosen One, and his message were exposed to a dangerous attempt to distort it,” indicating: “Today, Hussein represents among us an inexhaustible spring and a path to which we resort whenever hardships intensify, a refuge in times of calamity and a place to which we look when aggression con
spires and the remnants of deviants, terrorists and aggressors gather, no matter how different their forms and motives are.”

He stated that: “It is from the favors of Almighty God that He made Iraq an eternal home for Hussein with his noble thought, body and biography as long as time remains, and we continue to draw inspiration from Hussein for patience and the ability to remain on the right path no matter how difficult and desolate it is, and his memory continues to work within us whenever our tasks become difficult or we face an obstacle placed by a corrupt person who wants to harm our people and our Iraq, but their hope has failed them all.”

He continued, “The blood of our sons was shed in defense of the existence of Iraq and the path of building the state, and their wounds bled as they took Hussein as an example, and the blood of the people of Gaza is flowing today as a result of hatred and injustice, for every oppressed person whose body has been ravaged by tyranny and oppression sees Hussein standing
behind him, comforting and supporting him.” The Prime Minister concluded his speech by saying, “We adhere to the path of building a state of institutions and the people’s right to a dignified state in which they live with pride, dignity and honor.”
