Alarm bells ringing for Israel, supporters: FM spox

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said in a Twitter message on Friday that alarm bells are ringing for Israel and its supporters.

The Israeli regime is plagued with internal political and security crises and impasses: the spread of anti-occupation resistance from Gaza to the West Bank and the 1948 occupied territories; the globalization of hatred towards the Israeli regime, some aspect of which was seen in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar; the UN’s move to adopt a resolution calling Israel’s founding a “catastrophe” and marking Palestinian “Nakba Day – Palestinian Catastrophe”, Kanaani wrote on his Twitter account on Friday.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman added in another part of his Twitter thread that the apartheid Zionist regime and its supporters’ focus on Iranophobia is a futile last-gasp attempt to divert the public opinion from the issue of Palestine and give artificial respiration to moribund Israel.

Kanaani emphasized in his tweets that the Israeli regime’s attempts, with the support of the US, to normalize ties with more governments would not diminish the world nations’ aversion to the Zionist regime and its illegitimate nature.

The true winner of the World Cup is the Palestinian nation and its loser is the Zionist regime, he noted.
