Anti-Crime arrested three accused of theft and another one in his possession of an unlicensed firearm in Baghdad

Detachments of the Anti-Crime Directorate arrested three persons accused of theft and another one in his possession of an unlicensed firearm in Baghdad.

The Directorate stated in a statement: The detachments of the Baghdad Anti-Crime Directorate arrested three persons accused of stealing motorcycles, (2) of whom were caught red-handed while committing the theft within Al-Adhamiya, Al-Karada, and Al-Habibiya anti-crime offices.

It explained that this came during a security exercise conducted by the Baghdad Crime Control Directorate, which included deploying detachments and patrols in the main streets, commercial areas, and residential alleys to impose security and protect citizens’ property, control violations and suspicious elements, and verify wanted persons.

It noted that the practice resulted in the arrest of a person in his possession of an unlicensed firearm (a modified pistol), and measures were taken against him in accordance with the law.
