Arab human rights cmte discusses Israeli occupation’s violations

Members of the Arab standing human rights committee meet in Cairo Sunday to dicuss the Israeli occupation’s violations in occupied Palestinian territories.

The committee meeting, to be chaired by Kuwait’s Assistant Foreign Minister for human rights Talal Al-Mutairi, will listen to a briefing by UN special rapporteur for human rights in occupied Palestinian territories, the Arab League said in a statement Saturday.

Haifa Abu Ghazala, Assistant Arab League Secretary General for social affairs, said the committee members would be discussing the Israeli occupation’s systematic violations and failure to hand over bodies of Palestinians.

She added the committee sought to formulate a unified vision against hatred, violence and discrimination against faiths.

The committee members, she said, would approve the Arab human rights logo for 2024, and would refer recommendations for the ministerial meeting next month.
