Damascus: Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary, and Expatriates Affairs has emphasized the significance of a recent visit by top diplomat Abbas Araqchi to Syria. The visit included a notable dinner at a restaurant in the Syrian capital, which was intended as a demonstration of the Islamic Republic’s authority to the United States and its regional allies.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Vahid Jalalzadeh shared insights on his X social network regarding Araghchi’s engagement with Syrian citizens following meetings with high-ranking Syrian officials. Jalalzadeh highlighted that Araghchi’s public dinner served as a message of Iran’s support for the legitimate Syrian government.
During his visit on Sunday night, the Iranian Foreign Minister, along with his delegation, also made a pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Hazrat Ruqayyah (SA), the daughter of Imam Hussain (AS), further cementing cultural and religious ties between the two nations.

Before his departure from Tehran, Araghchi stated his mission’s purpose was to affirm the Islamic Republic’s steadfast backing of the Syrian army and government, illustrating Iran’s strategic stance in the region.
