The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 11 suspects inside a warehouse containing untested human medicines in Baghdad.
The Ministry said in a statement: “By exercising its supervisory role and following up on the owners of drug stores and warehouses, and after obtaining judicial approvals, a force from the Directorate of Combating Organized Crime in the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency in the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the holding force in conjunction with a committee from the Ministry of Health, was able to seize a warehouse of medicines not subject to examination by the Ministry of Health in the Karrada area of Baghdad, which were hidden in a secret warehouse.”
She added: “11 suspects were arrested inside the warehouse, which contained eleven million boxes of various types of medicines. The necessary legal measures were taken against those arrested, the seized materials were handed over in a proper manner, and the warehouse was closed.”
