Aseer Governor Launches Digital Saudi Day at King Khalid University

King Khalid University (KKU) held the “Digital Saudi Day” yesterday under the patronage of the Governor of Aseer Region and Chairman of the Aseer Region Development Authority (ASDA) Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz.

The event was an occasion for 20 public and private sector entities to exhibit their digital accomplishments and spotlight innovative e-services.

Governor of the Digital Government Authority Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Alsuwaiyan, and KKU Acting President Dr. Saad bin Dajam attended the event.

Alsuwaiyan emphasized the Saudi leadership’s commitment to digital transformation across all sectors, and highlighted the need to make use of cutting-edge technologies to provide exceptional services, and improve government efficiency and competitiveness.

Alsuwaiyan described “Digital Saudi Day” as a key initiative to showcase the progress of digital transformation, share success stories, and strengthen public-private partnerships to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Three new digital transformat
ion initiatives were launched at the event: KKU introduced an open-source software laboratory for data and artificial intelligence and launched the third version of its electronic portal, and the University of Bisha launched the second version of its business intelligence platform.

The event featured five dialogue sessions, four presentations, and eight workshops that focused on crucial topics such as digital transformation and the impact of technology on various sectors, including tourism, industry, and human resources.

An exhibition ran alongside the event, showcasing the latest technologies used in both public and private sectors. The exhibition highlighted the government’s digital journey, success stories, and the range of e-services available.
