Asian Boxing Championship; Iran athlete wins in first match

Tehran, IRNA – One of Iran’s boxers in 2022 Asian Boxing Championship, Moslem Maqsudi, won his first match versus a Palestinian boxer on Tuesday night in Aman.

This year’s Asian Boxing Championship is held in Jordan’s capital city Amman, and kicked off on Tuesday.

On the first day of the competitions Iranian team’s 51Kg Mostafa Rigi and 71Kg Moslem Rigi were to compete.

In his first match, Maqsoudi faced Qassem Rajab from Palestine, whom he beat 5-nil to reach the next round, where he will face Rostam Beig Ulu Nureddin from Turkey.

Rigi, too faced Titi Sun Panmuth from Thailand, the world champion of 2018, and lost the match to leave the Asian Championship this year.

The head coach of the Iranian national team this year is Alireza Estaki.
