Austrian Styrian Falcons Farm Displays Speedy Falcons at the International Falcon Breeders Auction

Austrian Styrian Falcons farm is taking part in the International Falcon Breeders Auction for the second consecutive year, following its remarkable success in selling all its falcons at last year’s auction.

The farm is bringing to the auction 16 falcons of species that were widely popular among falconry enthusiasts last year.

The farm’s agent, Hezam Al-Ajmi, said that the Austrian farm has been preparing for the auction since the beginning of the year by prioritizing the production of falcon types favored by Saudi and Gulf falconers, such as Gyr, Peregrine, and Saker. These species are known for their speed and are highly sought after by falconers who take part in the Melwah Racing events, he said.

He also said that falconers usually begin training chicks early for races.

Al-Ajmi conveyed the farm owners’ appreciation for the facilities provided by the Saudi Falcons Club and the care given to the falcons during their transport to the Kingdom.

The auction is the largest such event in the world. It is held
by the Saudi Falcons Club from August 5 to 24 at its headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh.
