Beijing agreements depict new horizon in Iran-China relations

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian in a meeting with Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPCID) Liu Jianchao said the agreements clinched by two countries presidents outlined a new horizon in Tehran-Beijing relations.

Amirabdollahian made the remarks on the sidelines of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s visit to China.

He added that the mutual agreements also emphasized the need to utilize the capacity of political institutions to strengthen mutual trust.

Amirabdollahian also underscored that the two countries enjoy vast capacities of cultural cooperation, expressing hope that Iranian films will quickly enter the Chinese market.

Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, for his part, congratulated his Iranian counterpart on Iran’s National Day and the 44th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

He said the Tehran-Beijing strategic relations have affected the regional developments, underlying that the world is witnessing new developments that are unprecedented in the 100 years.

The Chinese official reiterated that the world is moving towards multi-polarization, and the era of decision-making of a few limited countries for the world is over.

He added that the West still does not want to finish its hegemony and insists on hindering the expansion of other nations, China and Iran inarticulate.

The Iranian president returned to Tehran on Thursday (Feb. 16) after a three-day official visit to the East Asian country.

President Raisi described his official visit to China as fruitful and successful, expressing hope that all will see the growth of cooperation in various fields between the two countries.

President Raisi arrived in the Chinese capital Beijing early on Tuesday at the start of a three-day visit to the country and held talks with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

The two presidents pledged to enhance Tehran-Beijing cooperation regardless of international developments and signed cooperation documents.
