China, Iran underline need for respecting IRI territorial integrity

 

Tehran, IRNA – Deputy Prime Minister of China Hu Chunhua and Iranian Vice President Mohammad Mokhber have emphasized the importance of respecting the territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In the Tuesday meeting to pursue the Iran-China 25-year cooperation program, the two sides underlined the need for expediting the implementation of the agreements reached between Beijing and Tehran in this respect as well as the necessity of paying heed to the territorial integrity of the Islamic country as an important and unchallengeable principle.

The Iranian vice president underscored that the issue of respecting the territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic is of significant importance in the eyes of the Iranian people and officials.

The first vice president pointed to the historical and ancient ties between the two countries, saying that the Beijing-Tehran relationship is of great importance in the eyes of leaders of both sides and that President Ebrahim Raisi pursues the interactions between the two states seriously.

Mokhber also appreciated Chinese officials’ support for the accession of Iran to international entities such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the BRICS.

China and Iran adopt a unified stance in the face of unilateralism in the world, he said, adding that there are good and constructive negotiations between the two countries.

As to the opening of China’s consulate office in Bandar Abbas in southern Iran, he noted that Qeshm, Chabahar and Arvand special economic zones can turn into important hubs for expansion of economic and trade cooperation between Chinese and Iranian businesses.

He further expressed hope that the national currencies of China and Iran would be used in trade exchanges in the future.

Chinese vice premier, for his part, said that Beijing’s determination to expand comprehensive strategic ties with Iran will never alter, and that China supports national dignity and territorial integrity of Iran as well as fight against foreign intervention in the Islamic country.

He also urged for the expansion of coordination and collaboration in terms of fighting terrorism.

Pointing to the Iran-China 25-year cooperation program, he evaluated achievements in this regard as positive and important, which show joint efforts by Beijing and Tehran to expand cooperation.

Chinese and Iranian delegations agreed upon 16 axes of the cooperation program regarding economic ties.
