Chinese, Russian, Iranian navies fire at marine targets in naval drills

Tehran, IRNA – The navies from China, Russia and Iran have fired at marine targets during the first day of the naval security belt combined wargame 2023.

Spokesman for the joint exercise Rear Admiral Mostafa Tajoddini said on Friday that in this stage of the naval security belt combined war game 2023, units from Russia, China and Iran have conducted their maneuvers in northern areas of the Indian Ocean since early morning.

The units fired at pre-determined targets on ocean surface led by Iranian Sahand destroyer, the commander noted.

In the next phase, the units will continue their wargame under the supervision of drones belonging to the Islamic Republic of Iran Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), he added.

The naval security belt combined wargame 2023 is the fourth joint drills among Russia, China and Iran, which is underway.

It is worth mentioning that Kazakhstan and Pakistan are taking part in this year’s wargame as observers. The two-day drills are being held in the Oman Sea and the northern areas of the Indian Ocean.
