Colombia’s Islamic Center Director: Saudi Arabia Took It upon Itself to Serve Islam, Muslims

Director and Imam of Colombia’s Islamic Center, Sheikh Mohammed Matar, stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has undertaken the responsibility of serving Islam and Muslims. Matar made these remarks following the approval of holding an international conference on communication with religious affairs departments, fatwas, and sheikhdoms worldwide, titled “Communication and Integration,” by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance is organizing the conference, set to take place in Makkah on August 13-14 (26-27 Muharram). It will be attended by representatives from 85 states, including ministers and heads of Islamic affairs, fatwas, sheikhdoms, and Islamic associations.

Matar emphasized that the Kingdom has initiated various projects to benefit the Muslim world, fostering unity among its people and presenting a true portrayal of moderate Islam to the world. These efforts, he added, are evident and aim to convey the message of moderate Islam worldwide. Matar specifically highlighted Saudi Arabia’s endeavors in establishing Islamic centers around the globe, led by competent individuals, as well as their contributions in printing Quran copies and books.
