Cost of normalization of ties with Zionists for Islamic World

Tehran, IRNA – The normalization of ties between Arab states and the Zionist regime, initiated by former US President Donald Trump, is not only a kind of treason to the Palestinian cause but also in contradiction to unity in the Islamic World, which threatens regional security.

All Muslims are aware of the significance of the Palestinian issue and the Holy Quds, a geographical territory that plays an undeniable role in creating identity and unity for the Muslim societies.

Up until now, the Western powers and international organizations kept silence when it came to the Zionist regime’s crimes against Palestinian people and certain Arab states have betrayed the oppressed nation by joining the so-called allies of the occupying regime.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei accepted some Iranian officials and pundits, participating in the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference, describing the move to normalize relations with the usurper regime as a big sin and warned that the governments should change the course and make amends for this big mistake.

History shows that the Zionist regime’s presence in the region has had only destructive consequences for the regional nations. Despite the fact that the Arab states have witnessed negative experiences of Jordan and Egypt after normalization of ties with the regime, now the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain joined the two Arab countries to start diplomatic relations with the occupying regime.

Experts see some reasons behind the move by Arab states; for instance, the Arab government were under former US President Donald Trump’s pressure to accept the normalization process, and the difference between Iran and certain Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, as well as disputes between some Arab governments, such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia, are among the main causes.

The Zionist regime can use the normalization of ties with Arab states as a tool to foment difference among Islamic nations and divert public opinion from its crimes against the Palestinians and the fact that the regime is the source of insecurity in the region.

Therefore, Arab states have ignored Islamic tenets, when they tended towards the Zionist regime and betrayed the oppressed Palestinian people.

However, historical experiences have proved that such political consensus have never been accepted by Arab and Muslim nations.
