Creative Cities of Gastronomy Exhibition to Be Held in Buraidah on September 11-15

The Culinary Arts Commission, in collaboration with the Principality of Qassim region and Qassim Chamber of Commerce, is preparing to host the Creative Cities of Gastronomy Exhibition in Buraidah from September 11 to 15, as part of the cultural festivities held during the Buraidah Dates Carnival.

The exhibition will showcase 25 UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy from across the globe, along with Saudi cities recognized in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN): Buraidah for gastronomy, Al-Ahsa for crafts and folk art, and Taif for literature.

Highlighting the cultural and culinary diversity of the participating cities, the exhibition will feature live cooking demonstrations. Each city has its own pavilion where visitors try unique dishes reflecting local traditions.

Moreover, the exhibition will offer visitors the opportunity to engage with chefs, and discover local ingredients, traditional cooking techniques, and modern innovations that set each city apart in the culinary world.

A special pavili
on will highlight Buraidah’s culinary contributions to UCCN, showcasing its history, cultural heritage, and creative aspects that have earned it international acclaim.

The event will also feature sections dedicated to Saudi coffee and dates, presenting a range of date varieties for which the Kingdom is renowned.

This exhibition is part of the cultural program accompanying the Buraidah Dates Carnival, the world’s largest date festival held annually in this city.

Through this event, the Culinary Arts Commission wishes to celebrate Buraidah as a creative city of gastronomy, reinforcing its standing in UCCN, and promoting cultural exchange between the Kingdom and the global community.
