Damascus needs Iran cooperation in health sector: Syrian Envoy

Tehran, IRNA – Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Shafiq Dayoub said here on Tuesday that his country has suffered a lot in fighting against terrorism, and in health sector, treatment and academia needs cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Shafiq Dayoub in his meeting with Director General of International Cooperation of Iranian Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, Mohammad Hossein Niknam, said that he is making the necessary coordination with the relevant sectors in Damascus to broaden cooperation and transfer of experiences between Iran and Syria, especially in the knowledge-based companies.

Director General of International Cooperation of Iranian Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, for his part, said that more ties and cooperation between the pharmaceutical officials of the Ministry of Health and the companies exporting Iranian medicines to Syria in the presence of the Syrian ambassador can help solve the problems.

Referring to the point that there is no limit for aspects of cooperation between Syria and Iran, Niknam said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to provide the necessary assistance to Syria in the field of health infrastructure.
