The First Deputy Governor of Basra, Muhammad Al-Tamimi confirmed today that the accident in the electricity grid in Basra has not yet been determined whether it was an act of sabotage or a natural accident, noting that “the investigation is underway to find out its causes, but it is certain that the high temperatures and the high load of today often leads to such accidents in some transformer stations.

Asaad Mehair, have mobilized toay in order to address the problem and restore the current to the people of Khor Al-Zubair district, where two mobile units 63MVA, 132/33kv were equipped, as well as two mobile units for power distribution.” 33/11kv is being connected by the electricity cadres, and it is hoped, during the coming hours, to restore the electric current to the Khor Al-Zubayr district, in a temporary way, until the replacement of the transformer and the sections affected by the fire accident, which led to the burning of one of the 11/132 Kv transformers and the burning of the 11 kv side sections.

He also confirmed that most of the power plants that went out of work after the fire accident were gradually restored and electricity was restored to most areas of Basra.
