Dr Raisi: Warm Iran-Iraq ties rooted in common culture, civilisation, deep beliefs/ Emphasis on fostering cooperation in various fields/ Iraqi PM: Iraqi gov’t, people have always appreciated their Iranian brothers for helping them

Reviewing the latest status of Tehran-Baghdad economic cooperation, especially the constructive agreements made during the Iraqi Prime Minister’s recent visit to Iran, the President emphasised the need to strengthen cooperation, especially in the fields of energy, industry, trade, finance and banking.

In a phone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani on Wednesday afternoon, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi congratulated the blessed birthday of Imam Mahdi (AS), and said, “The relations between the two Iranian and Iraqi nations are warm and historical, and rooted in common culture, civilisation and deep beliefs”.

Reviewing the latest status of economic cooperation between the two countries, especially the constructive agreements made during the recent visit of the Iraqi Prime Minister to Tehran, the President stressed the need to strengthen cooperation, especially in the fields of energy, industry, trade, finance and banking”.

In this telephone conversation, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani also congratulated the government and nation of Iran on the birthday of Imam Mahdi (AS), and stated, “The government and nation of Iraq have always appreciated the support and assistance of their Iranian brothers, especially in difficult times”.
