Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty has hailed as “historical” relations binding Egypt and Kenya.
During his meeting held with his Kenyan counterpart Musalia Mudavadi on the sidelines of Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), which is being held in Tokyo, Abdelatty also lauded the keenness of Egypt and Kenya on further boosting ties in a way that achieves the interests of the two peoples.
The two top diplomats also discussed the existing level of cooperation between Egypt and Kenya, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
They also agreed on the need of giving priority to increasing the volume of trade exchange, beefing up investments, and exchanging expertise in the various domains, according to the spokesman.
Egypt is keen on enhancing economic and investment partnership with Kenya, added the spokesman.
The talks also touched on the latest conditions in the Horn of Africa and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, he further
said.
Abdelatty, meanwhile, affirmed Egypt’s unwavering support to Somalia’s security, stability, and sovereignty, said the spokesman.
For his part, the Kenyan top diplomat expressed his appreciation for the distinguished ties binding Egypt and Kenya.
Kenya is keen on increasing volume of trade exchange with Egypt along with benefiting from Egypt’s expertise in the various spheres, he affirmed.
He further affirmed his country’s interest in continuing coordination and consultation with Egypt toward the current regional and international challenges.
