Five Die in Vietnam Due to Heavy Rain, Landslides


Hanoi, Five people died due to heavy rains and mudslides in northern Vietnam, according to Vietnam’s National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, reported by the Vietnam News Agency.

The landslides and floods caused by the rains resulted in huge material losses, said the agency, noting that the rainwater flooded homes in the areas of Muong Ang, Nam Bo and Muong Cha.

A large number of families was evacuated urgently, and dozens of hectares of rice fields were damaged, as well as numerous roads in many areas.
