FM Amirabdollahian: Tehran-Caracas cooperation to be broadened

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said here on Saturday that the path of deepening the cooperation between Iran and Venezuela will be broadened more than before with the signing of the comprehensive roadmap of cooperation.

Amirabdollahian met and held talks with his Venezuelan counterpart, Carlos Faria, on Saturday in Tehran.

Congratulating Faria on his appointment as the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Amirabdollahian noted that now the ties between Iran and Venezuela are in the best condition and with the signing of the comprehensive roadmap of cooperation between them, the path of deepening the cooperation between the two states will be broadened more than before.

He expressed hope that the ground for implementing the 20-year document will be applied with the boost of contacts and exchanges of visits in the future.

Emphasizing that there is a good opportunity to enter a new round of cooperation between both sides, Faria, for his part, noted that Venezuela is admiring Iran’s progress in the fields of knowledge-based economy, industry, and other fields, especially under the unilateral sanctions.

He underscored that Venezuela fully agrees with the Iranian authorities’ argument that the sanctions can be an opportunity.
