FM: Iran, Russia agree on issued statement on Afghanistan’s situation

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Friday said that Iran and Russia agreed on the issued statement in the 21st Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) about the situation in Afghanistan.

On the sidelines of the SCO summit, I held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Amirabdollahian tweeted.

I thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for supporting Iran to be accepted as a permanent member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), he further noted.

We agreed on the statement issued on the developments in Afghanistan, he pointed out.

The Islamic Republic of Iran was accepted as a permanent member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the 21st SCO Summit in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on Friday.
