FM Zarif: Iran’s definitive policy to expand ties with neighbors

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah on Thursday said that Iran’s definitive policy is to expand relations with its neighbors.

Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, who traveled to Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony, met and held talks with Zarif.

While reviewing the extensive efforts made to promote relations between Iran and Kuwait, Zarif appreciated the respectful, friendly, and close relations between these two states.

He announced that the continuation and promotion of constructive efforts in the government of President Raisi within the framework of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s definitive policy to expand relations with its neighbors.

Kuwait’s foreign minister, for his part, discussed bilateral relations and the latest situation in the region, and other issues of mutual interest.

Congratulating the election of Ebrahim Raisi, he stressed his country’s determination to expand relations comprehensively and called for further consultations between the two states on regional and international issues.

Acknowledging Zarif’s eight-year efforts, Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah described the given initiatives by the Islamic Republic of Iran for regional cooperation in the Persian Gulf as important.
