Foreign Ministry assessing South Korean president’s meddlesome remarks: Spox

Tehran, IRNA — Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani said on Monday that the ministry is evaluating the latest meddlesome remarks by South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol about relations between the neighboring and friendly countries of Iran and the United Arab Emirates.

Kanaani said that the South Korean president’s remarks show that he is totally unaware of Iran’s historical and friendly ties with the Persian Gulf littoral states, including the UAE, as well as the positive developments rapidly happening in this regard.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry is seriously following and evaluating South Korea’s recent stance, especially its president’s remarks about Tehran-Abu Dhabi relations, and is awaiting a response from Seoul, the spokesman noted, calling the remarks undiplomatic.

On Monday and during his trip to the UAE, South Korean President Yoon called the Arab country a brother nation whose security is “threatened by Iran.”
