GACA President Visits Egypt International Airshow


President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, accompanied by Deputy Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force Major General Pilot Talal Al-Ghamdi and Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Saleh bin Eid Al-Husseini, visited the first edition of the Egypt International Airshow yesterday. The event is held between September 3 and 5, 2024, at El Alamein International Airport.

Al-Duailej and his accompanying delegation toured the pavilions, witnessing the diversity of the industry as they viewed the latest products, technologies, and services in civil and military aviation and space. They also checked on the latest innovations and solutions in the aviation industry. The tour included visits to the pavilions of various participating companies, such as the Saudia Group, Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), the Royal Saudi Air Force, Korea Aerospace Industries, Boeing, and the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC).

This diverse range of companies showcased the advanced tec
hnologies offered in civil aviation and the latest solutions in aircraft maintenance, repair, advanced training, and defense systems.

On the sidelines of the event, Al-Duailej met with Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation Dr. Sameh El-Hefny over issues of mutual interest and explored ways to enhance cooperation in civil aviation, including potential investment opportunities in air transport.

Al-Duailej also held a meeting with AviLease CEO Edward O’Byrne, where they reviewed the company’s strategy, goals, and areas of future collaboration.

The Egypt International Airshow features participants from over 100 countries and over 300 companies and entities, including major global aircraft manufacturers and space industries. The event also hosts several aviation, space, and defense industry experts worldwide and heads of international and regional civil aviation organizations.
