GCC chief offers condolences for shooting spree in Tunisia

Secretary General of the GCC Jassim Al-Budaiwi expressed sincere condolences on Wednesday to the Tunisian victims of an attack that took place earlier on the resort island of Djerba.

Al-Budaiwi’s statement also assured the firm stance of the GCC on such violent actions of terrorism as he extended his and the council’s candid sympathies to the Tunisian victims and their families.

The shocking act took the lives of four police officers while 10 others were injured as the exchange of gunfire took place in the parking area during an annual pilgrimage to the historic Djerba area.

Earlier, Tunisian authorities locked down the area, following a shooting spree that resulted in killing four police officers and injuring 10 others.
