GCC Secretary General: GCC States Place Great Importance on Strengthening their Relationship with Iraq by Striving to Build a Close Strategic Partnership

The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, emphasized the significant importance that GCC countries place on enhancing their relationship with the Republic of Iraq. Their aim is to establish a close strategic partnership in all areas of collaboration. This sentiment was expressed during a meeting between the GCC Secretary General and Mohammed Rikan Al Halbousi, the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Iraq, held at the Parliament’s headquarters in Baghdad, the Iraqi capital.

Albudaiwi underscored the strong bond between the GCC countries and Iraq, rooted in geographical proximity, shared religion and language, a common history, and reinforced by familial ties. He stressed that these relationships have the potential to further strengthen future development efforts and promote peace.
