General Authority for Affairs of Two Holy Mosques Offers Guidance to Grand Mosque Visitors via 200 Digital Boards

Makkah: The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque assists its visitors, and Umrah and Hajj performers, to reach various destinations at the two holy mosques through a digital interactive map, Makani, and the paper maps.

This service is part of the authority’s continuous endeavor to facilitate people’s movement in and around the holy mosques.

The digital interactive map helps visitors to the Grand Mosque determine the location of places where they can perform religious rituals, as well as those of main landmarks, including the courtyard and the Masa’a building. It does so through 200 QR panels distributed throughout the Grand Mosque.

The digital map shows the location of most important facilities for visitors, including gates, the library, restrooms, guidance offices, the location of carts, escalators, elevators, and hospitals.

To help the widest audience, the map is offered in 51 languages.

The General Administration of Survey and Geographic Informatio
n Systems at the Grand Mosque also provides a paper map translated into several languages, which complements the guidance panels affixed to the walls of the Grand Mosque, to make it easy for worshippers to move around and perform their rituals.
