Indian security forces gun down four militants in Jammu, Kashmir

Indian police announced on Tuesday that security forces gunned down four militants in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Press Trust of India said quoting Additional Director General of Police Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh that four militants were killed in a joint operation by the Army and police in the Surankote area of Poonch district early morning today.

“In a major cordon and search operation, acting on specific intelligence four terrorists were eliminated in a joint operation by Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police near Sindarah and Maidana villages in Surankote Tehsil of Poonch district,” Indian Army said. It added that four AK 47, two pistols and other war like stores were recovered from the slain militants adding the search operation is still on. New Delhi accuses Islamabad of supporting and funding the armed groups in Kashmir, claims that Islamabad denies.
