Industry Minister Presents Investment Opportunities in the Kingdom to Singaporean Minister for Manpower

During his official visit to Singapore, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef met with Singapore’s Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry Dr. Tan See Leng.

Al-Khorayef highlighted the strategic importance of the Kingdom, which connects three continents, Asia, Africa, and Europe, and its abundant and diverse natural resources. He also presented the services and enablers of the industrial and mineral resources sector activities, and the promising competitive sectors under development.

He proposed forming working groups to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the industrial sector.

The two sides also discussed ways to build human capital in areas of common interest, and stressed the strong Saudi-Singaporean relationship.

Al-Khorayef is on an official visit to Singapore, part of a tour of East Asia that includes China and Singapore. The tour aims to boost bilateral ties, attract high-quality investments to the Kingdom, and explore i
nvestment opportunities in the industrial sector in each country.

The meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Singapore, was attended by Assistant Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Planning and Development Dr. Abdullah Al-Ahmari, National Industrial Development Center CEO Eng. Saleh Al-Solami, Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) CEO Eng. Majed Al-Argoubi, and Saudi Ambassador to Singapore Abdullah Al-Madhi.

Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports to Singapore reached SAR9.3 billion in 2023, while Saudi imports from Singapore that same year amounted to SAR5.9 billion. The Kingdom’s key exports to Singapore included plastics, chemical industry products, electrical devices and equipment, and metals and their by-products.

The main imports from Singapore were of ships, boats, floating structures, optical instruments and devices, medical devices, and pharmaceutical products.
