Iran, Afghanistan stress importance of keeping good neighborliness

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian and Afghan officials in a meeting in Kabul, Afghanistan, underlined in a meeting the importance of preserving good neighborliness as the two countries have long border crossings, according to the Afghan media reported on Wednesday.

Iran’s special presidential envoy for Afghanistan affairs, Hassan Kazemi-Qomi, and the head of the Supreme National Reconciliation Council of the former Afghan government, Abdullah Abdullah, participated in the meeting.

The two officials stressed the importance of keeping unity and national convergence in Afghanistan.

Abdullah appreciated the Islamic Republic’s humanitarian aid to the Afghan people.

For his part, Kazemi-Qomi called for fostering bilateral ties in line with national interests.

Kazemi-Qomi, the Iranian politician, also serves as the head of Iran’s diplomatic mission in Afghanistan.
