Iran and Croatia increase cooperation in Halal industry field

Belgrade, IRNA – The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Zagreb and the head of Croatia’s Halal Industries Center in a meeting here on Wednesday reached agreement on increasing the level of the two countries’ bilateral cooperation in Halal industry in food and medical fields, as well as the tourism industry.

Parviz Esmaili and Aldine Dogonic in the meeting on Wednesday evening also reached agreement on cosponsoring of the 2nd Iran and Croatia Halal Industry Conference in Tehran and also introducing the opportunities for cooperation and with Iranian firms and their capabilities in 2021 Zagreb Halal Industry Seminar.

Products of at least 200 large and active Croatian companies in food, medicine and tourism industries are presented based on the Croatia’s Halal Industries Center licenses in accordance with the international Halal standards.

About 1.6% of Croatia’s 4 million strong population are Muslims, but since Croatia is one of the world’s major tourism destinations, Halal industry has a special status in this country.
