Iran calls on NATO, G7 to abide by int’l law rather than lecturing others

– Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Tuesday that instead of lecturing others, the NATO and G7 should abide by the international law.

Khtibzadeh made the remarks in his twitter account in reaction to a recent statement by the G7 leaders.

The statement expressed support for Vienna negotiations between Iran and the remaining participants to a 2015 Iran nuclear deal – known as JCPOA – which at the same time prompting one-sided allegations against Iran.

“With a disastrous record in our region, NATO and G7 have no high ground to preach from — particularly to Iran as an anchor of peace and security in the region,” Khatibzadeh said.

He said that equating the aggrieved and the spoiler is only indicative of a flawed and politicized approach.
