Iran calls on Poland to facilitate transfer of Iranians living in Ukraine

Tehran, IRNA – Mohammad Hassan Habibollah Zadeh, an advisor to Iranian Foreign Minister and the director of Mediterranean and East Europe Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Saturday called for facilitating the transfer of Iranian nationals residing in Ukraine via Polish soil.

Habibollah Zadeh made the remarks during a meeting with Polish ambassador to Iran Maciej Lang.

Noting that a safe return of Iranian nationals from Ukraine is of special significance to Tehran, the official expressed hope that the Polish government would expedite the return of the Iranian citizens from Ukraine amid war in the country.

The Polish ambassador, for his part, referred to Ukrainian people and nationals of other countries living in Ukraine flooding to Poland and said that his respective government is ready to help the Iranian nationals who are looking an exit from Ukraine.

Meantime, the Iranian Embassy in Romania in a communique announced that the Iranian expatriates residing in Ukraine can obtain the visa of Moldovia and then cross the border into Romania in order to take flights into Iran.
