Iran favors good deal in shortest time: Amirabdollahian

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Saturday that Iran is determined to reach a deal with the five world powers – known as P4+1 – in the shortest time while noting that the duration of the talks will rely on the behavior and the resolve of the US, as well as the adherence of the European sides to the rules of the negotiating table.

The Iranian minister made the remarks in a meeting with his Italian counterpart Luigi Di Maio on the sidelines of the 58th edition of Munich Security Conference (MSC) where the two sides discussed issues of mutual interest.

Amirabdollahian appreciated Italy’s donation of a batch of COVID-19 vaccines to Iran.

The Iranian government under President Ebrahim Raisi is after relations with Europe with a balanced look at different countries of the continent, he said.

The foreign minister expressed hope that he will soon be hosting his Italian counterpart in Tehran.

The Italian foreign minister, for his part, said that Rome feels duty-bound to pursue both bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Tehran.

Noting that the Italian economic sectors have kept their relations with their allies even during the toughest sanction times, Di Maio said that they will continue to do so regardless of the developments in the Vienna talks between Iran and the world powers.
