Iran FM, Lebanon parl. Speaker discuss mutual ties

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon Nabih Berri in a meeting on Friday reviewed bilateral relations.

Iran’s top diplomat met and held talks with Nabih Berri during his visit to Beirut, Lebanon on Friday.

The two sides discussed bilateral, regional, and international issues.

At a press conference on his arrival in Lebanon, Amirabdollahian said that his visit to Beirut at the invitation of the Lebanese Foreign Minister is aimed at bilateral, regional, and international consultations, including talks on the latest developments in Palestine.

He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran continues to strongly support the people, the government, the army, and the Resistance in Lebanon.

Earlier today, Amirabdollahian held talks with his Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib on bilateral, regional, and international issues.

During the meeting, he called for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for Lebanon’s stability and security.

Amirabdollahian expressed his country’s readiness to help the Lebanese people regarding the electricity and energy issues, saying, “We are prepared to help repair the power plants in Lebanon and construct new power plants.”
