Iran increases monthly minimum wage by 27%

Tehran, IRNA – Iran has increased its minimum monthly wage for the calendar year starting March 21, 2023 by 27% to more than 80 million rials.

According to a decision adopted late on Sunday by Iran’s High Labor Council, the minimum wage was increased by 17,752,430 rials from a figure of 41,790,000 rials reported in March 2022.

However, Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, Solat Mortazavi said the minimum salary received by a worker in a household of 3.3 would be 80,820,600 million rials in the calendar year to late March 2024.

The minimum wage is used for paying monthly salaries to millions of simple workers in Iranian industrial units.
