Iran, Iraq agree to resolve banking issues: Economy minister

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Minister of Finance and Economy Ehsan Khandouzi said on Monday that Iran and Iraq have agreed to resolve their banking and forex problems.

Khandouzi made the remark in a TV interview in which he gave a briefing on his current visit to Iraq where he had attended the 5th meeting of the Joint Economic Commission of the two countries.

The Iranian minister did not go into details on how Tehran and Baghdad would resolve their banking and forex problems.

He said, at the joint economic commission meeting, it was agreed that obstacles to investment by Iranian firms are removed so that the two countries can further expand their economic relations.

Khandouzi stressed that Tehran and Baghdad are determined to develop their economic ties despite “third parties and ill-wishers” trying to prevent that.
