Iran, Kuwait to cooperate more seriously against dust storms

Tehran, IRNA – Iran and Kuwait signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Tuesday for more serious cooperation against dust storms in the region.

Iranian Vice-President and Head of the Department of Environment Ali Salajeqeh, heading a technical-diplomatic delegation, arrived in Kuwait City to sign and arrange for immediate implementation of an agreement on campaign against dust storms.

In his meeting with high ranking Kuwaiti officials, the Iranian vice president emphasized the great importance of strong regional cooperation against dust storms and rapid implementation of reached agreements.

An MOU was signed between Salajeqeh and the concerned Iraqi environment officials at the meeting.

The subject of the MOU include arranging joint seminars and conferences, exchanging technicians and scientists specializing in the fight against dust storms, establishment of a special workgroup, sharing scientific achievements in the field, management of the campaign, sharing experiences of the international organizations in this field, and timely warning system before the occurrence of dust storms.
