Iran, Kuwait to hold football super cup

Tehran, IRNA – Iran and Kuwait agreed to hold a super cup between football clubs of the two countries.

The agreement was reached on Thursday between President of Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran Mehdi Taj and his Kuwaiti counterpart Abdullah al-Shaheen al-Rubaie in a meeting in Kuwait.

Al-Rubaie hoped that Iran’s national football team could best represent Asia in the World Cup 2022, expressing Kuwait’s willingness to leverage Iran’s experience to develop and restore the country’s football.
