Iran not involved in any terrorist activities: Human rights official

As earlier appeared in the remarks by Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, US President Donald Trump leads both the regional and international Daesh, Larijani said in a recent exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), referring to the terrorist group also called ISIS.

He described Trump Muslim Ban order as unwise, saying the US President is the ring-leader of Daesh.

It is so ridiculous to see that the main sponsors of terrorism, a phenomenon that is taking toll even in the United States and Europe, claim to lead the fight against terrorism, Larijani said.

No trace of Iran's involvement in terrorist accidents has been found and the terrorists are friends of Saudi Arabia and the US and those who participate in sword dances, he added.

He went on to say that Iran should not do the same and ban Americans and Europeans from traveling to the country.

Iran is trying to uproot terrorism in the region and the world and the US has entered a dangerous game by trying to support terrorist activities in the Islamic Republic, Larijani said.

US support for terrorist movements in Iran indicates that Washington is the biggest sponsor of international terrorism, he added.

US President Donald Trump's travel ban took effect last week.

The new rules tighten visa policies affecting citizens from six majority Muslim nations: Sudan, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen. People from those countries who need new visas will now have to prove a close family relationship or an existing relationship with an entity like a school or business in the United States.

Citizens of those countries who already have visas will be allowed into the US as usual.

In December 2015, after a deadly militant attack in Paris claimed by the ISIL group, then-candidate Trump called for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.

When Trump signed a 27 January executive order banning the entry of citizens from Yemen, Somalia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan and Libya, including permanent US residents, it was seen as an implementation of his campaign promise.
