Iran, Oman deputy FMs meet in Tehran

Tehran, IRNA – Deputy foreign ministers of Iran and Oman met on Saturday night as the eighth round of meeting of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Sultanate of Oman joint consultation committee.

Ali Bagheri Kani, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, and Sheikh Khalifa al-Harthy, Omani Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs, expressed content over the level of relationship between the two countries and the attempts to expand it based on mutual trust.

Bagheri Kani underlined the necessity of solving regional issues by the regional states and expressed hope that current issues would be settled through dialogue between the countries of the region.

Al-Harthy highlighted Iran’s central role in the developments in the region and said that his country, as in the past, was interested in expanding bilateral and regional ties.

The two sides also discussed various regional and international issues, including the talks in Vienna to revive the JCPOA, the necessity of solving the crisis in Yemen, and the region’s need to dialogue.
