Iran parliament speaker urges global fight against dust storms

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf on Monday expressed concern about the future of dust storm problem, noting that shared global problems require shared efforts and joint solutions to all the countries.

He made the remarks addressing an online meeting on monitoring dust storm problem in the Middle East and North Africa.

Apart from serious threats to the health of the people, the dust storms have also bothered the regional countries economically so that they are spending huge amounts of money to counter the problem, the Iranian Parliament speaker said.

Regretting that other insignificant issues continue to be prioritized over environmental problems, Qalibaf said that if a joint solution is not devised for the dust storm issue, the future of the problem is uncertain.
