Tehran: Iran’s Embassy in Mexico has firmly rejected allegations made by the United States and Israel, claiming Tehran was involved in an attempted attack on the Israeli ambassador in Mexico City. The embassy denounced the accusations as media sensationalism designed to undermine the longstanding and amicable relations between Iran and Mexico.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the embassy released a statement on Friday emphasizing the mutual interests shared by Iran and Mexico, asserting that Iran would not betray the trust placed in it by the Mexican government. The statement underscored Iran’s commitment to preserving the positive image it holds with the Mexican people, addressing the accusations of anti-Semitism as falsehoods crafted by Israeli leaders.
The statement highlighted that Iran houses over 100 synagogues, all accessible to the public, and noted that during Israel’s operations against Iran in June, there were no incidents of verbal harassment reported against Iran’s substantial Jewish community.
The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs had previously dismissed the allegations from the US and Israel, affirming it had received no intelligence or reports of any attack attempt against Einat Kranz Neiger, the Israeli ambassador to Mexico. Both the Mexican Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of the Interior have expressed their readiness to maintain open communication with all diplomatic entities and have pledged to engage in respectful and coordinated collaboration with international security organizations.
